    Hi, thank you for your praises! It is possible to switch to i2c, but the thing is that I don't have such a display, so I cannot make the actual changes. I always try to use SPI displays because they're much faster, using i2c display may introduce some [more] image distortions, especially when the game gets faster.

    Unfortunately, no. 2.4" OLED modules are rather pricey, it costs $17 alone.
    I'd estimate the total cost of the device around $20.
    But one can always go with a smaller, much cheaper screen.

    Thanks for the comment! The score freezes up upon reaching 65534 (after about half an hour run without dying). And yes, the game gets faster, I noted it in the description:

    Just like in the original, the game becomes harder (faster) the further you progress.
