I'm sorry, I can't provides schematics as I have never drawn some. If you like to build one, I can recommend Adafruit's motorshields to control the stepper motors and the DC motor that lifts the pen. It requires only some minor software changes to adapt a alternative motor shields.

The webpage provides more information about the fischertechnik parts, so that you will be able to recognise most of the pieces.
However, I have also used some non-fischertechnik parts:
- stepper motors
- Arduino controllers
- axle bearings
- rotary plate
Hi, you are right - the code can't be compiled without the library. Moreover, <MegaDueShield.h> includes even more libraries. I'm going to setup a GitHub page to provide a stable solution, however this will take me some time.
