I found it really impressive it manages to work that fast ! very cool!!

I made this project a long time ago so I don't remember exactly all the details but from what I remember I update the camera position every frame . My webcam is rated at 30 fps but I don't think I get that with the face detection on top .
I vaguely remember using a proportional controller to smooth the movement of the camera .
Anything vaguely related to a PID controller would probably help fluidity but without a descent frame rate I think it would be hard to have fast and precise movement (I might be wrong though) .

Thanks ! It can still be improve a lot though .

Thanks ! I try to document some of the difficulties I face as I develop the project . I think it makes it a bit more interesting and relatable when you also show when it goes wrong .

Cool project! nice write up with some pretty pictures as well !

I like the iron technique .

Do you have more detail about this error? I have no issues compiling this code...

  • Color Sorting Machine almost 2 years ago

They will be happy with this one as there are a few parts to print!

I don't know how strong their allergy is but there is a possibility that a small amount of the coating of the purple skittles end up on other colors .
The skittles rub against each others in the reservoir and something they lose tiny flakes of colored coating (you can see those small flakes around the big bearing on one of the pictures) .

My granddad had a workshop (for woodworking) when I was a kid, I always have very found memories of spending time in there!

Nice! Would be perfect for tea drinker as well!

    Thanks Pedro!
My projects tend to be pretty simple and don't bring anything new on the technical side so I try to make them standing out by putting a bit more work on the design and presentation .

I am glad you like it !

Hi , I haven't a diagram for the UNO but the wiring should not be different . the pins are just in a slightly different position on the board .
If you refer to this picture you should be able to translate the wiring to the uno : https://cdn.instructables.com/F9J/QUME/INRCMG5L/F9JQUMEINRCMG5L.LARGE.jpg

It should work with a Uno but it won't fit the bracket to attach it to the side of the turret . It should be pretty easy to work something out with some double tape or a few zip ties .
Nothing special with my printer or filament . I just use classic PLA .

What are you trying to open it with ? The file you get when downloading from the website is an archive file containing the STL files, you need to extract them using winrar (it's a free software) .

  • Bluetooth Nerf Turret almost 2 years ago

yes . A .rar file is an archive file, the parts are inside . Download winrar (it's free) then you will be able to get the STL file inside .

Just a bit of advice : When you deal with a file with an unknown extension, google the extension (here .rar), more often than not you should find the answer to your problem pretty quickly .

There is a big 'download parts button' on this page : https://www.littlefrenchkev.com/bluetooth-nerf-turret

    thanks!

The webcam is an ADVENT AWCAMHD15 but any usb webcam should work .
I wrote the software myself . I explain how to use it and where to download it in the last video .

    Hope this helps .

  • Face Tracking Camera about 2 years ago

Thanks, it's good to know . I haven't try to install TensorFlow on a Pi yet .

  • Face Tracking Camera about 2 years ago

For the wiring I don't know if I can explain the wiring more .

basically I feed the Arduino with 9 volt to the Vin .
I power the servos from the power supply (to make sure I don't fry the arduino)
I use a voltage regulator between the power supply and the servos to make sure they are running on 5 volts .
each servo control pin (yellow wire) are plugged to the Arduino (pin 8 and 9) .

The LEDs are just plugged on the ground of the arduino on one side and their respective pin (2,3 and 4) on the other (with a resistor) .

    I hope this help .

  • Face Tracking Camera about 2 years ago

yes, this is one of the thing I would like to try in the future .
And also using a tensor flow for a better object/face detection .
