This Alexa-controlled device aims to save water by planning the time and amount of water to use in each shower.

The only other device similar to this that I know of is the Kickstarter ‘smoke signal - a safety system for 3D printers’. The campaign ended 4 years ago so it may be difficult to get your hands on. I may create a commercial version of this project down the line, but if that ever happens it will be a while from now.
Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate that you put the time in to writing this. First of all, I have been thinking of hooking this up to an esp8266 for sms alerts. It would go a long way to get alerted of any issues with the printer. I like the idea of fire suppression and specifically having extra steps be taken if the power cutting doesn’t work. That would substantially increase the appeal and usefulness of this product. I plan on continuting to develop this project until it is a polished product. I still need to fine tune the sensor to prevent all false alarms, redesign the case to make it more user friendly, and implement any new features. This summer will be a great time to take this idea to the next level. If all goes well and I am able to perfect this device, I will strongly consider creating a kickstarter. Thanks for your kind words and inspiration. It really means a lot coming from someone of your background.
