In the second project in my pick to light, I am using WIFI to pass the data between PC and Arduino.

Low cost, easy build pick to light system.
Being able to play Atari games like they were meant to be played in the '80s is really hard today, but possible with the help of an Arduino.

Hi Predi as I said earlier you should be able to run the mkr off a phone charger and completely divorce the mkr from the laptop. The project 1 was a serial project and laptop and mkr have to be connected project 2 is Wi-fi. . Perhaps you could create a draft project and show me your set up.
Hi Predi was it something I should add into the project? Please let me know how you get on.
Hi Predi the pins 8 and 9 are not connected together. one goes to the led that represent bin 1 and one goes to the led that represents bin2. If you look at the serial project that I did it is a much simpler wiring diagram which actually works with the Wi-fi project but the leds glow very dimly. I think this is because the Wi-fi once activated draws more current though I couldn’t find any reference to this on the internet. That is why I used the transistors so I could power the leds with the 5v pin.
