About this project

SolarShield200 is an educational hardware platform for the development of power and energy management systems. The solar PowerShield enhances embedded development skills to the next level, and promotes the development and utilization of renewable energy.

The shield is a programmable current/voltage interleaved boost converter that that regulates the amount of current and voltage going to the battery or load. The board integrates 16 bits ADC, 12Bits DAC, battery current sensor and optional BMS board. The input power source can be a solar panel or AC-DC power adapter. The Arduino board provides all the control and parameter settings and monitoring; data can be sent to 16x2 LCD or Windows GUI.
