Basically, the Microcontroller keeps the check of hand positions and the current time. If they are not equal, then it moves the hands to make them equal. So, it automatically corrects the positions after a power outage (as the time is stored in an RTC ).
The same is responsible for correcting the positions if someone tries to displace any clock hand.
