Using camera modul to scan and recocnizing with pattern and or alogaritm of coin image, yes i been think about that, but then it will require more process and effort. Ex: i think coin need to stop moving, exactly in front of camera, adjust lighting or use ir camera, then aqquiring image or scan it, get the data, save it, move coin (create a space for next coin),, etc.
For my purpose (identifying between 2 coins) i decide to use magnets to count travel time between 2 sensor.
But yes using camera is viewable solution. Especially maybe when we need to identify more than 2 coin. But for that case, we can just use coin acceptor module. It is more practical IMO.
