PVC was the perfect medium choice. This is the third redesign to her frame actually. I can change the pvc incredibly fast and it is very cheap but strong and lightweight. Thanks for looking at my project.

Fantastic. I started with a few small robots and rovers years ago. After I made my first servo move back and forth I was addicted to this tech. Be sure to link with me on LinkedIn. I like to come up with solutions. Thanks for looking at my project.

Aria strands for autonomous robotic information acquirer which is what I think we all are. 🙂. I’ve also always loved that name. It has been my pleasure to share. A lot of people have given me great tips. I also feel very good about it as it has sparked people’s imaginations. Anything and everything is possible with today’s technology and it is getting smaller cheaper and faster. I’ve programmed most of my life in multiple languages since the 80s. Aria has been more of an adventure than all my previous projects put together. More tangible. More thought provoking. And more driven because I think she can help my mom and anyone that needs it. I’m not a very good capitalist even thought I have an mba from Loyola. I get more annoyed the more I learn about the world. 😝 aria is much more me. I’m more of a philanthropist and dreamer.

Be sure to watch an old movie called runaway with Tom Selleck. It was the first thing to interest me in robotics.

Stay away from terminator. I’ve been told I’m probably going to create skynet. I’ve actually built in three kill switches into aria just in case. One is a remote I have close by at all times. With a few button I reset the arduino to setup status. Better safe then sorry. 😱

Thank you for looking at my project. Have a productive day.

Thank you so much. She’s getting there. It’s been a lot of fun the past few months. It took a long time to get everything working together. Then some more time working on her precision. I’m hoping a lot of people will get ideas.

My buddy makes r2d2s and a few other things. Check out https://www.astro-droids.com My buddy is part of the 501st legion and just 3d printed a black c3po costume. I’m helping him put lenses and motion tracking into the helmet to control the r2d2. Insanely fun. We tried for a bb8 but couldn’t get the gyro to match the speed of the servos and the drive motors. We are redesigning it. I tried my Croft jasper a few others. I give you credit. They are not easy. I’m not s a big fan of big business either. Snowboy does not need to be connected to the Internet for the hotword but then I have a service for the google voice api. Feel free to connect on LinkedIn. We can throw ideas around.

I was actually a bit lucky with this. Each room of my apartment has a distinct gps longitude and latitude. She can tell by that from her gps sensor and her compass. She knows what direction she is traveling in and I keep track of where she came from. Thank you so much for the comment. Please let me know how your project is going as well.

iRobot does something similar to this. It scan the ceiling of a room to determine size. I believe it defines its docking station as home in this diagnostic. I’ll definitely looking into this. Thank you. Accelerometers are a great idea. I have one as part of my magonometer as well. Thanks again.

Thank you for the comment and looking at my project. I totally agree. I really need to tear apart my website and redo it. It’s on my things to do list. 😆. I’m really happy I shared it. I’m getting great tips and questions to help people in their own projects. I’m hoping this will start many personal robot builders for the home. Have a productive day.
