Purpose of Disease Detector:
The U.S. healthcare system is suffering a growing shortage of physicians, with only 2.6 physicians currently available for every 1000 people. The current COVID-19 pandemic magnifies this shortage and further strains this already overwhelmed health care system. Given this, it is imperative that people have an alternative way of monitoring their health and obtaining an accurate diagnosis of symptoms before consulting a physician. This web application addresses this need by using Machine Learning to provide users quick and accurate medical diagnoses based on their symptoms and health parameters. This platform promotes early disease detection--thereby allowing ample time for necessary medical intervention--and alleviates some of the excess stress placed on health care systems.
Although this project doesn't implement the Arduino there is potential for the Arduino to be involved. Arduino wristbands could be created to collect and input some parameters of the website. Additionally, this website could possibly be hosted on one of the newer Arduino having it act as the server. Currently, my laptop has to act as the server and deploying the code on an Arduino seems to be more effective.
