sorry for the delay of my reply.
Basically I think it should be enough to modify only the code of the "drawScreen()" method in START.cpp in order to render the content of the chars matrix "START::screen[SCREEN_ROWS][SCREEN_COLS]" on your specific device.
Add a usb keyboard support should be quite easy...whit some sort of ps2 to usb adapter.
It sound more difficult to add VGA support; I suppose it should be possible to use this shield (or similar):
...if I'm able to find a cheaper shield i think I'll give it a try!
