This is great. Can you provide a parts list and some details on the build?

Great project, and a nice write-up.

Great project. I love seeing art and technology come together.

I was just about to go out and buy a Leonardo when I found by chance that the Adafruit Trinket can act as a HID. Adafruit has libraries for it and everything. Since I have one in my arsenal of controllers, I am going to use that instead. I was able to use your code for reading the IR codes on an Uno without modification. This is good because the Trinket doesn't have a debug console.

Cool idea. I got the first program to work and was able to read codes from several remotes. Second program didn't work for me. Turns out you need a Leonardo for this. The Uno that I am using cannot be used as a HID very easily. Still a great idea.

Another thought for a switch would be a float arm. This is how an actual sump pump for a house works. The switch is an arm with a ball at the end that floats. The shut off on a toilet works the same way.

    Where's the write up?

Also, why do you need both an Arduino and an Edison? I am guessing that you will need to rethink your design.

Thank you! I have been trying to make something touch sensing, but all the plans I've found require high value resistors (1 - 10M ohm) that I don't currently have.

That makes sense. Was just curious. Love the project.

Could you skip the Pi, use Bluetooth modules instead of RF, and control the tanks from the PC with NodeJS?

Can you make it do patterns to the sounds?

Nice write up and concept. I like reading about iot projects that extend our senses.
