Hello Edward - sorry about this, I missed the question earlier. Each load cell has it's own amplifier AND Arduino mini. The main Raspberry Pi application then talks to each load cell via I2C. The load cells themselves are smart. I haven't published the source code for this but PM me at firstname.lastname@example.org I can work with you and send what I have. Right now it's just not in a form I feel good about publishing.
As a side node...my kegerator is sitting idle right now :( having four kegs of tap beer easily accessible just isn't a good fit for someone that is trying to loose a bit of weight.
