Well this project is at a high level and includes wrapper for the boards from CCTools. It is designed to be extensible which means you are able to integrate sensors and actuators which are using AllJoi
yn or other protocols like HTTP, MQTT etc. The benefit of this project is to deal with all of that different hardware and combine them to a fully featured home automation solution. So think you should start with AllJoyn and then thinking about how to integrate the sensor and actuators into this SDK. You can still send me private messages if you need further information or help.
Yes the communication is done over the I2C bus and the Arduino. The protocol is implemented at the "Firmware" for the Arduino which is called "I2CHardwareBridge" within the solution. The C# part at the Pi2 contains a wrapper for remote controlling of the Arduino.
