He is using the BMP180 sensor module which only supports an I2C protocol. I2C is not supported on the ESP8266. The successor to the BMP180 is the BME280 which supports both I2C and SPI, so you could probably get rid of the Arduino Nano since the ESP8266 supports SPI.
