Last year I updated the github Chromaduino code in a number of ways, including correcting the non-standard I2C address. But the clock zip file here on Hackster is the original from 2016.
I suspect that's you problem. Try changing the
#define LEDS_I2C_ADDR 0x05
line in LEDS.cpp to
#define LEDS_I2C_ADDR 0x70
If that doesn't work, perhaps start by trying the ChromaduinoMaster.ino sample sketch on github, see if that works.
I've updated the sketch and schematic to fix mislabeled SDA & SCL pins.
Try using MatrixClock-jan-2018.zip from the Code section, I updated the sketch for v1.8.3 a while ago, it should deal with the progmem changes
I've updated the sketch (see MatrixClock-jan-2018.zip) to deal with changes to PROGMEM and possible case-sensitivity of #includes. Compiles with Arduino v1.8.3
I have. You should see a link to "HSVClock.zip" in the Story section above.
Thanks! The colour sequence is random
Awesome job Mirko! It looks really good. And much more hand-made than mine; individual LED's in a hand drilled front panel, and it looks like you made the rest of the case too? Well done. I'm glad there's at least one other MatrixClock out there!
Go for it! FWIW, my LED matrix has "NFM-12883AS-11" on the side. It's about 30mm square.
I've updated the parts list (I'll see if I can find more details about the LED matrix).
I've also added a "schematic" -- an image of the diagram in the code.
Hope this helps!
