About this project

Autognorics is the science involved in the study of engineered life-forms called ELFS or Gnorics. It is a much higher discipline that augments artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics. It deals with embedded inscriptions, intuitive objects, aneural(brainless) memory systems, and generated emergence.

The word Autognorics is derived from the Greek words: Auto which means self and Gnorics which means knowledge. Literally, it means " a self-knowledge living machine". The process of building these systems of engineered life forms is called Autognorization or SELFS.

Autognorics evolved from the scientific research developed by Joey Lawsin in 1988 known as the Biotronics Project. It is a project that aims to create machines that are alive, living, and with life. These Intuitive Machines (IM) are objects that act and look like humans, animals, plants, and cells. They are programmed to walk, see, talk, think, hear, taste, feel, fly, or swim. They die too.

Autognorics is divided into five branches, namely:

  • Homotronics - physical body of the machine
  • Neurotronics - aneural and neural memory of the machine
  • Dimetrix - inscripting by mechanical design
  • Codexation - embedded inscriptions
  • Autognorization - prototyping through SELFS.

Homodruinos, Biotronics, Zoikrons, and Gnos are examples of ELFS. Homodruinos are intuitive machines with an aneural brain of an Arduino microcontroller. Biotronics are electronic machines equipped with organic wise sensors. Gnorics are living machines with consciousness, awareness, aliveness, intuitiveness, selfness, and lifeness. In other words, Gnos are the life-forms of machines.

According to Lawsin, there are six Orders of Life. He classified them into stages or orders based on their states of being.

  • Alive = consumes energy without the need of any neural reasoning.
  • Aware = sends and receives signals using sensors without the need of neural reasoning.
  • Conscious = match things with things without the need of neural reasoning.
  • Intuitive = chooses this or that without the need of neural reasoning.
  • Neural = self-knowledge through aneural memory systems.
  • Living = experiences natural and artificial life.
ELFS: Engineered Life Forms Systems

The machine in the video is animated not because it was computer programmed by a set of instructions but because it was mechanically programmed by its own designs, structures, and shapes. Through the natural phenomena, Lawsin called Inscription by Design or I.D, the machine mechanically self-programmed itself. It moves in a circular motion by itself due to the presence of exyforms and the principles behind the theory of generated emergence.

Meanwhile, the robot below is alive, aware, conscious, intuitive, and living with only one defect left to be considered a life-form. If you are curious about this only element needed to make the robot human-like, the answer is divulged in the book Originemology by Joey Lawsin.

The Robot who is alive, aware, conscious, intuitive, and living.
