An open source kit to build a walking smart robot dinosaur.
Project in progress by Jacquin Buchanan
This kit is NOW completely Open Source. The git hub has links to all the source code, 3D Printable parts, and assembly videos.
Love to see what you can do with this resources.
Thank you for the compliment.
You can order on Indiegogo. https://igg.me/at/Intellisaurus/x/19752605
I am still tweaking the dragon STL files. Getting the neck to move the way I want and making the parts easy to print on most 3D printers. The triceratops shell is finished.
I should have all the STLs for all three online at the new year.
On Indiegogo the only option to order the dragon shell version is to be available in April. If you are going to print your own dragon shell. Just get either early bird special without a shell, which will be ready before February.
Thanks for the input. I definitely intended this kit to allow improvement. All the software is OpenSource. As a platform I think people will focus on either the walking algorithm, AI behavior or design. Everyone benefits from each other.
In this video, there are two different gates. The slower gate, which is one leg at a time. This allows a single leg lifted for start, and is more stable over obstacles. The second gate is two alternate legs lifted together. This is for faster travel, but is less stable on uneven terrain. The robot can transition between these gates, and run these two gates at variable speeds.
