  • Program MKR Over-the-Air + Goodies: Voice Control, etc. over 3 years ago

Wow! This is a tall order project - actually 3 in one (over the air programming, monitor/controller, voice recognition). I have been following your Arduino forum entry with interest and I am looking forward to trying this out. To roll out hundreds of devices it is essential that you have a reliable "over the air" system to do updates. Good luck with the competition!

  • Multiple mode Environmental Sensor Deck with MKR1000 over 3 years ago

The beauty about the competition is that it triggers a new learning curve that will be ongoing. Hackster projects is such a rich source for getting a grip on a wide variety of IoT related topics. I am an old dog and therefor probably a bit more practical as far as applications go. Robotics, flashing lights and sound will always be a draw card for the younger generation. I steer towards storing your data on the cloud, where it can be analyzed and shared with the assurance that someone else will take good care of it (Microsoft Azure, Amazon, Google, etc). Good luck with your hacking!

    Hi Jannie,

Thanks for "respecting" my project. Unfortunately the MKR1000 has not been released yet, but that will happen soon, I guess. At this stage there is no indication on price. I was one of the lucky 1000 who got it for free to do the competition project. Have you tried any flavor of ESP8266 (like the Nodemcu)? That is very affordable - less than R100 from China. Let's keep in touch.

    Regards,
    Joep
