After arriving home from college, I decided to watch a movie. Suddenly, I heard a splashing of water flowing outside the window. I was totally into the movie so I wasn't that concerned about the sound.
Oops! I had turned on the water pump after getting out of washroom and the tank is full. I was the only person present in home that time, I rushed and turned the motor off but it was already late. The overflow lasted till 15 to 20 minutes. That wasted around 100 liters of water.
Not only me, my dad, mum, brother, everyone had faced this issue several times. Many times I see water flowing from the rooftop water tank of houses in my locality where drinking water is very rare.
First I made a very small prototype of automation system using Arduino Pro Mini, Relay, a transistor, resistors and some thick wires in a traditional way of water level indicator and automation. That was not much satisfying, then I saw the competition online at hakster.io where I entered the same idea and got selected among top 1000.
I received a very interesting and fully featured Arduino development board.Features:
