I think it would be easy working with Arduino for such project,from sensor interfacing to coding all would be way much easier than Raspi and for such project the power Arduino embeds is more than enough.But if you are comfortable with Raspi than its okay.According to me Arduino is much more lucrative and easy going for such type of projects.
Hi Darius! I know it's bit confusing why one would use both Arduino and Raspi when all the work Arduino can do it alone.Here I was having a spare Raspi and its camera module so I used it in this project for security purpose if one tries to damage it so I can monitor it remotely and also I was not having any USB camera or any other camera compatible with Arduino, so I used Raspi here. Raspi is completely optional here its of no use for any other purpose, it was just an attempt to add some extra functionality.I think this will clear all your doubts and sorry for the confusion, if any suggestions please let me know.
